Ongarra Studio is a working studio for Gillian Marie Designs. Textiles, paintings and jewellery are created on site and displayed in the small gallery space which is open during SALA or by appointment.
Ongarra is the name of the farm on which the Studio is located. The Studio is set up primarily for textile design (silk painting and screen printing) but there is now a variety of styles of paintings available and unique jewellery created to reflect the paintings or textiles
Ongarra Studio is represented at local markets, such as the Meadows Country Market (2nd Sunday of the month) and the McLaren Vale Craft Market (3rd Saturday of the Month). Gillian is also a member of the Textiles and Arts Collective - know as T'Arts, which has a shop in Gays Arcade, Adelaide, and her textile work can be found there. Gillian is also a member of the Red House Group, associated with Gallery M at the Marion Cultural Centre, and a member of the Royal South Australian Society of Arts (RSASA) where her paintings can be see at various member exhibitions.
